Pre-install
The previous lights at Global Bus Ventures were extremely dated and had been running for long periods without being replaced. Reduced output and many bulbs not working caused the building to look ‘brown’, as seen in the photos above. The lighting levels in the factory were poor, measuring 83 Lux, and employees were engineering in dark conditions. The existing lighting control system was so problematic that the customer had turned it off. This meant the lights were going continuously for many hours a year, increasing the operational costs with minimal light output in return.
What we did
We assessed the site and selected a high powered light to significantly improve the brightness of the building. We listened and worked with the team to determine their current lighting control issues and installed a wireless lighting control system to solve these. Working with the employees, we designed an installation plan that ensured personal safety and minimal disruptions to factory operations.
Outcome
The lighting levels have increased by 300%, making a brighter and safer environment for the employees. The engineers are able to perform their tasks with greater ease and accuracy. To date, Global Bus Ventures are saving an average of $2,000 per month.
Working within a tight budget, we created a design to maximise lighting levels through clever placement and minimise operating costs.
This project spanned several years and involved working with a local manufacturer to design an ultra efficient LED light specific to the clients needs.
